There is real power in God’s word for those who choose to use it.

Let me ask you some questions:

1) Do you read your Bible rarely, occasionally or daily?

2) Do you look at reading the Bible as a chore or do you approach it with excitement, wondering what is to be revealed to you today?

I used to be in the rarely read category and looked at reading the Bible as a chore.  I had heard people refer to it as God’s living word, but I didn’t really understand what they meant.  I had no idea how ignorant I was of the power in God’s word when it is applied.

See that’s the key, applying it.  Many people love Bible studies and learning the Bible but they don’t apply what they learn to the areas of their life that need it most.

Let me give you an analogy.  Let’s say you want to paint a room in your house.  You decide on the new color, you buy the paint and bring it home.  You are all excited about the paint color and can’t wait to see how the room looks with the new paint.

Something comes up and you decide to paint the room later.  Later never comes and you never end up painting the room.  It stays just the way it was and you end up looking day after day at the old paint you don’t like.  You don’t get to enjoy the new paint because you never applied it to the walls.

It’s the same way with your Bible.

When I began to read the Bible daily and approached it with passion and excitement, specific words or phrases seem to literally jump out at me, I was blown away.  When I began to apply what was being shown to me my whole life changed.

If you already are doing this I’m preaching to the choir, if not give it a try..but be careful, you just might like the new you!

God bless,

Danny
